About Auntie Ju's Quilt Shoppe ABOUT US You know what happens when you just can't get your fill of quilting fabric and patterns...you open your own quilt shoppe! That's exactly what Julie Ploehn-Vigna and her mother, Linda Ploehn, did in September of 2007! They presently operate an on-line 'quilt shoppe' and are vending at quilt shows in a tri-state area of the Southeast OUR QUILTING HISTORY Linda started quilting in 1997 when she and her husband retired to Lake Hartwell GA. While still working she began collecting quilting ideas and saving them for a rainy day...retirement = a rainy day!. Linda became a charter member of the quilter's guild in Hartwell but after several visits to Wilmington, soon desired to live the life of a beach bum! Wilmington turned out to be ripe with fellow quilters, and she knew she had found her new home! Julie longed to find out what her mother's new hobby was all about,so she took her first quilting class in 2004 and was hooked! Linda and Julie took part-time jobs at their respective local quilt shops and ...as they say 'the rest is history'! MISSION STATEMENT To offer our customers quality materials that will promote the creativity and enjoyment of the age-old crafts of punch needle and appliquéing with hand-dyed wools, of designing wearable arts, and, last but not least, of enhancing the art of quilt making for the enjoyment of future generations.
